Rhythm & Tap: Level 5

Sample Video

“Dance: The Cutting Edge – Rhythm & Tap: Level 5″ is chock-full of exciting ways to turn your basic movements, such as Bombershays and Maxi Fords, into eye-catching, jaw dropping, ear-tricking patterns. Dancers will learn Maxi Ford Pickup Toe Turns, Dig Toe Bombershays, Flying Shuffles, Irish Pull Backs, Shiggy Bob, and Double Over the Tops. There are 48 new steps in all! Level 5 is based off Levels 1-4 of the “Rhythm & Tap” series and breaks down sophisticated movements we see and love from professional tappers. Rhythms will be more complicated, shading and syncopation will be introduced, and agility is worked on to present clear crisp sounds. Echo pattern improvisations are
given as additional objectives to challenge the dancers. Think of this level as pre- professional conditioning.

Instructing is Alyssa Fernandez, currently a student at Florida International University, pursuing a teaching certificate with hopes to run a high school dance program. She started dancing at 5 years old at Just Dance It, in Miami, Florida. At just 17, she was cast as a principal dancer in a Screen Actors Guild commercial featuring Lebron James, Johnny Manziel, and many others for McDonalds.
